A LITTLE HISTORY OF THE FILAO COMPANY
The name of the company comes from a tree with filiform and light foliage, and at bois very hard, which adapts to all types of sols.
At the origin of the company, there is the immersion of choreographers Géraldine Borghi and Cyril Coussieu in the sensitive neighborhoods of Toulouse. From this immersion emerge questions about the means implemented to exist in this world.. What anchor and what light are necessary for the existence? Choreographers create sensitive spaces that tell the story of intimacy and extimacy, and explore both singular movement and self-deprecation.
Since 2010, they develop a repertoire ofchoreographic works mainly aimed at young audiences in which they display two characteristics that make them specific : a physical dance, where the notions of contact and musicality are fundamental, and research around the meaningful movement.
Through the prism of life contexts, they are keen to question human relationships in everyday life and to open towards universal reflections.
Choreographic creation and mediation have always seemed inseparable in their artistic approach.. This desire to facilitate access to culture extends to the way of disseminating their creations both in theaters, unequipped places only in educational establishments.
Always open to new practices, the artists of the company like to propose shows at the crossroads of several disciplines. Contemporary dance therefore mixes on stage with object theater, urban dances or circus arts.
